Government of Karnataka, Public Works, Ports & Inland Water Transport Department, is planning to take up second stage development of the modern deep sea port at Karwar, in Uttara Kannada district. The project is estimated to cost Rs.16590 million. As of June 2016, bids have been invited for developing the project on PPP basis.
