Kamarajar Port has awarded a concession agreement to Indian Oil Corp to construct a captive jetty in Chennai Port area. The project involves building a 3-million tonne per year captive jetty for handling petroleum and LPG cargo. The captive jetty can handle cargo carriers ranging from 5,000 to 70,000 tonne capacity.. The project is estimated to cost Rs.4650 million. As of June 2016, work on the project is expected to commence shortly and will be completed by end 2016
